Teeth Stuff

Sometimes Teeth need stuff!

Teeth do a lot of heavy lifting, and sometimes whether it’s due to decay or trauma, they need our help.

Restorative Dentistry is the process of repairing or replacing damaged or missing teeth. Teeth play an important role in many ways not just biting and chewing, they also help us form sounds and speak clearly not to mention they form a big part of our smile.
The main aim of restoring damaged teeth is to return the tooth to its form and function.

There is often more than one way to restore a tooth.
Depending on YOUR individual oral health needs we offer:

  • Fillings – tooth coloured composite material.
  • Crowns – crowns/ caps fit over your entire tooth, kinda like a glove.
  • Extraction – sometimes there is no other option, if a tooth is severely broken or heavily decayed or let’s be frank, cost is a factor, removal of the tooth is offered. In some cases with difficult extractions a referral to a specialist maybe recommended, we have a great network of specialist we can refer to.
  • Dentures – when tooth/teeth are missing dentures are one option to restore form aesthetics and function. Whether it’s for a missing tooth, or several missing teeth or a full set of dentures. There are many types of dentures available. Options include.
Flexible – lightweight nylon material, great for partial or single tooth replacement.
Acrylic – immediate used for insertion immediately after extractions and for full mouth replacement.
Metal frames/ Cobalt-chrome – used mainly for partial dentures and can be added to when and if needed.
  • Cosmetic Stuff – appearance of our teeth can have an impact on overall wellbeing. Whether they have been damaged due to trauma or disease there are procedures that can be done to improve the overall aesthetics of our teeth. The best course of action in this case is to book an appointment to discuss the many and varied options.
